Rogers, Stephens lead American past Colgate, 66-64

HAMILTON, N.Y. (AP) — Matt Rogers led American with 23 points and Elijah Stephens hit the game-winning jump shot with seven seconds remaining as the Eagles beat Colgate 66-64 on Sunday.

Rogers also had seven rebounds for the Eagles (15-14, 9-7 Patriot League). Stephens added 17 points while finishing 8 of 12 from the floor and had three steals. Geoff Sprouse was 5 of 9 shooting (4 for 6 from 3-point range) to finish with 14 points.

The Raiders (20-9, 14-2) were led in scoring by Ryan Moffatt, who finished with 20 points. Jeff Woodward added 10 points for Colgate. The Raiders’ 12-game winning streak came to an end.
